As a Fine Art Photographer in Cranberry Township I wanted to share a few ideas on where I find inspiration for my signature artwork!
"Embarking on an Inspirational Journey: From Concept to Creation in Fine Art Portraiture"
"As a Fine Art Photographer, I draw inspiration for my signature portraits from the world around me. Take, for instance, a small Boyd's Bear figurine that has adorned my space for years, depicting a charming scene of a little girl and a bear on a bench. For countless moments, I've envisioned the charm of this scene captured through my lens.
This year, that vision came to life with the help of an adorable young model. Anticipating her upcoming session, I meticulously planned every detail, from props and wardrobe to the smallest accents like apples. When the moment arrived, she effortlessly embodied the role, perfectly positioning her feet on the books and resting her cheek in her hand, just as I had envisioned.
From the multitude of images captured during the session, one stood out—a perfect representation of the envisioned concept. This chosen image served as a proof. As I began the journey of transforming the photograph into a timeless Fine Art Portrait, I found myself wondering what this little girl was saying to her friend. I love portraits that tell a story, and when I look at this portrait all I could think of is this little bear took a bite out of the apple and knew he was in trouble."
Yet, one of my most cherished sources of inspiration lies in working with some of the foremost children photographers from around the world. Year after year, I eagerly invest in workshops and photography classes, immersing myself in the artistry and techniques of these masters. Through their guidance and expertise, I glean invaluable insights that fuel my passion for photography and push the boundaries of my creativity.
I've been incredibly fortunate to participate in workshops led by two of the most extraordinary children photographers in the world, Cassandra Jones and Iwona Podlasinska. These remarkable women are true masters of their craft, generously imparting their wealth of knowledge and expertise to their students like myself. Each time I admire their work, I'm not only inspired but also driven to seek out new sources of inspiration and to elevate my own artistic endeavors. Their passion and dedication serve as a constant reminder of the boundless potential within the realm of photography.
As a grandmother, my passion for learning and creating remains as vibrant as ever. At every turn, I find inspiration waiting to be captured in my art. Each workshop I attend becomes a stepping stone, enriching my skills and knowledge, empowering me to transform that inspiration into my signature style of art.
